Code of Professional Ethics

Upon being granted official membership, the Society will expect its members to uphold a strict code of professional ethics in order to maintain good standing with the Society.

As members of this academic and professional society, we recognize our responsibility to uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct in all our activities, including teaching, research, and professional practice. We commit ourselves to the following principles:

  1. Integrity: We will be honest, truthful, and transparent in our academic and professional activities, and we will avoid any behavior that could compromise our integrity or the integrity of the society.

  2. Respect: We will respect the dignity, diversity, and rights of all individuals, including our colleagues, students, clients, and research participants. We will treat them with courtesy, fairness, and impartiality.

  3. Responsibility: We will take responsibility for the quality and accuracy of our work, and we will strive for excellence in all our academic and professional endeavors. We will also be responsible stewards of resources entrusted to us, such as research funding and institutional support.

  4. Professionalism: We will adhere to the highest standards of professional conduct, including ethical principles, codes of conduct, and best practices in our respective fields. We will also promote these standards to our colleagues and students.

  5. Confidentiality: We will protect the privacy and confidentiality of all personal and sensitive information entrusted to us in the course of our work, including data, research findings, and personal communication. We will only disclose such information with proper consent or legal obligation.

  6. Avoiding conflicts of interest: We will disclose and manage any conflicts of interest that may arise in our academic and professional activities, such as financial interests, personal relationships, or bias. We will avoid any conflicts that could compromise our objectivity, fairness, or independence.

  7. Compliance with laws and regulations: We will comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and institutional policies governing our academic and professional activities, including those related to research ethics, intellectual property, and data protection.

 

We pledge to uphold these principles and to hold ourselves accountable for our actions as members of this academic and professional society. We will also encourage and support our colleagues and students to follow these ethical standards and to report any violations or concerns to appropriate authorities.
